Kumo Recruitment was founded by Ian Bannister as an antidote to the increasingly high-volume, low-quality approach used by many recruitment agencies. With technology pushing an increasing proportion of the hiring process online, so dehumanising the experience for employer and candidate alike, we practise the lost art of interpersonal relationship building.

We take a proactive approach to recruitment and talent search. Our techniques include traditional networking, mapping, head-hunting, network referrals and social media, but at the heart of everything lies personal interaction. Where possible, we like to meet clients and candidates face-to-face (in-person or via video link), allowing us to have a greater chance of matching the right candidate to every client brief.

Ian is a passionate mid- to senior-hire head-hunter with over 20 years’ experience. Specialising in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Process Improvement and Business Transformation, he collaborates with leadership teams to help them find, secure and retain top talent.
Having enjoyed a successful career with larger recruitment organisations, Ian set up Kumo Recruitment to pursue his people-focused vision of excellence and fulfil a long-held desire to run his own business.
Beyond the world of work, Ian has a passion for classic road and racing cars. He is also a keen cook and enjoys a fine bottle of red wine.
